The African-Asian union (AFASU) for Development, Tourism and Technology crowned Major General Khaled Fouda, Governor of South Sinai, with the AFASU Golden Award for the Best Governor and Leader of Tourism Development in the World, “Man of the Year,” in recognition of his work in serving the sustainable development and tourism development of the governorate.
The city of Sharm El-Sheikh was also crowned as the safest tourist destination to visit in the world.

After it fought a fierce competition with five international tourist cities, but the criteria and experts of the jury from all over the world, numbering 42 members, voted for the city of Sharm El Sheikh to win the international award.
For his part, Major General Hossam Badr El-Din, Secretary-General of the union, confirmed that the AFASU Golden Award has an international global jury, whose members are 42 members from all over the world, all of whom are members of the African-Asian Union AFASU. It has strict standards and is strictly applied, and the “AFASU” Golden Award depends on 14 main standards. They include tourism, economic, human and community development, sustainability, clean energy, rationalization of water consumption, advanced infrastructure, sustainable facilities, distinguished management, effective leadership and other rules.

Osama Saraya, member of the union’s Supreme Awards Committee, confirmed that His Excellency Governor Khaled Fouda and the city of Sharm El-Sheikh deserved these two valuable international awards, and that winning the award came as a result of a great love relationship between Khaled Fouda and the South Sinai Governorate.
In his speech, Major General Khaled Fouda said in his speech that he is very happy with this honor from the prestigious African-Asian Union, which emanates from a prestigious international organization, the Afro-Asian Peoples’ Solidarity Organization, whose members are more than ninety countries, not only in Africa and Asia, but in all countries of the world, as it has member states in Europe, North and South America, and Russia.
I thank the African Asian Union (AFASU), led by Dr. Hossam Darwish, the union’s leaders, Dr. Adel Al-Maslamani, Major General Hossam Badr El-Din, the union’s awards committee, and all the foreign guests, members of the committee who came from abroad to honor me personally, and my dear city, Sharm El-Sheikh, for its kind attention to my long-standing and persistent efforts. The governor indicated that this honor for himself and for the city of Sharm El-Sheikh coincides with the approaching date of the launch of the Egyptian Health Tourism Applications Conference, after the long period of preparation for that conference several years ago, since 2019, after the idea of the conference at its beginning constituted a group of precursors that turned into ideas, then The components of a vision, a mission, a work strategy, and policies for implementation were established that were in line with the Egypt Strategy 2030, with the vision of the political leadership, and achieving Egypt’s national interest. He called on everyone to attend and follow up on this important Egyptian event. At the end of his speech, the governor extended his thanks and greetings to all attendees, hoping that cooperation, constructive contributions, and combined efforts would continue to make the Applications Conference a success. Health tourism and the growth and development of this type of tourism in a way that achieves a significant addition to the economic growth and well-being of Egypt and its people under the wise leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
In a wonderful ceremony, Major General Khaled Fouda Deri received the distinguished award in Arabic and English from Dr. Hossam Darwish, President of the Federation, members of the Executive Council, and members of the International Awards Committee.
